INKARHO GmbH is a joint venture currently involving fifteen nurseries, some of which have been established for three generations. Their work is underpinned by a broad spectrum of botanical knowledge and a wealth of invaluable experience acquired over many decades.

The companies share a great passion for growing and breeding rhododendrons, many varieties are now famous throughout the world. The objective of the group was to breed a rhododendron under-stock that boasted healthy and vigorous growth even in the most demanding of garden soils.

In 1980 the Federal Institute for Ornamental Plant Breeding (IZZ) in Ahrensburg, Holstein, Germany, began the research to develop a rhododendron under stock with improved alkalinity tolerance. Their breeding endeavours over 25 years & testing all over Germany in different soils resulted in the successful achievement of their goal.

INKARHO Rhododendrons have won many awards and prizes. These beautiful lime-tolerant shrubs are now loved by garden enthusiasts in many European countries, as well as in the USA and Canada.
